How to Tag New Layers

Our tagging feature has been integrated into the final stages of the layer upload process. Once you’ve successfully uploaded your file, check the box next to the layer you’d like to tag. Then click Tag Selection in the lower right.

The “Tag Layer” menu will appear on the right. Click New Tag to enter custom tags into the text box or select from any of your existing tags. Once you’ve added all the desired tags, click Manage Layers to return to the list of your layers.

Your organization may want to develop your own best practices for tagging and organizing data. Possible tagging systems may include by department, topic, or date, but also may be dependent on how descriptively you title your layer.

When viewing your layers, you can now see the uploaded layer and it’s custom tags below. You can also filter layers by tag in the “filter menu” on the left side of the screen.

How to Tag Existing User Layers

You may retrospectively add tags to existing layers. In the your user “layer library”, locate the layer you’d like to tag. Simply click the Layer Menu icon (an ellipsis inside a circle, to the right of the layer name) and select Tag. The “Tag Layer” menu will appear on the right and you can then select existing tags or add new tags.

Editing or deleting tags is also possible. Click Manage Tags to navigate to a screen where you can edit (pencil icon), delete (trash icon) or create a New Tag.

We hope that this feature makes finding and using your user data a more efficient and organized process.
