We love seeing the creativity in how you work with multiple components such as data visualizations, images, and copy--but we know it can be cumbersome to recreate or move your work to a different report or dashboard page.

That's why we've added the ability to move, copy, and duplicate multiple components between your work spaces. You can now select these options with a single component, as shown below, or select a group of them to edit in bulk.

If you have visualizations or component layouts you frequently use, you can create a form of 'component library' by saving them all in a report that you can come back to.

To move or copy components,

  1. Select the components you want to move or copy.

  2. Once you’ve selected your component(s), select Move or Copy

  3. Select your destination between a component, report, or dashboard. Details for these destinations can be found below.

To move between specific dashboard pages, select your desired dashboard name to bring up all of the dashboard pages for that dashboard.

Pro Tip: You can also create a new report or new collection from those move or copy screens!

Destination Options:

Moving Components

  • Move to Collection: Moves the component(s) into a collection on that page. You may choose an existing collection and/or screen OR you may create a new collection and/or a new collection screen.

  • Move out of Collection: Appears only when a visual inside a collection is selected. This option moves the component out of the collection onto the main page of the report or dashboard where the collection resides.

  • Move to Separate Report: Moves the component(s) to the bottom of a different report or a new report. The component(s) will no longer be available in the original location. The new location will be accessible via a toast pop-up in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  • Move to Separate Dashboard: Moves the component(s) to the bottom of a different dashboard page. The user will be able to choose the desired dashboard and then the desired dashboard page. The component(s) will no longer be available in the original location. The new location will be accessible via a toast pop-up in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Copying Components

  • Copy to Collection: Copies the component(s) into a collection on that page so you will have a new version of it. You may choose an existing collection and/or screen OR you may create a new collection and/or a new collection screen.

  • Copy to Separate Report: Copies the component(s) to the bottom of a different report or a new report. The component(s) will remain available in the original location. The new location will be accessible via a toast pop-up in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  • Copy to Separate Dashboard: Copies the component(s) to the bottom of a different dashboard page. The user will be able to choose the desired dashboard and then the desired dashboard page. The component(s) will remain available in the original location. The new location will be accessible via a toast pop-up in the bottom left corner of the screen.
