When you upload a custom area in mySidewalk, it becomes a layer that you can enrich with more than 250 data points.
Enrich a custom area from an uploaded layer
(Note: Before you can enrich a custom area, you must upload it as a shapefile into mySidewalk.)
- Turn on one of your organization's polygon layers from the Layers pane in the left toolbar. Make sure Interactivity is checked in the layer's menu (click the three dots to the right of the layer to open the menu).
- Click to select the layer on the map. It'll be outlined in yellow when it's selected.
- Choose View data in the layer's info box menu (the three dots in the white box pinned to the upper-right of the display).
- Click Select Table under individual datasets.
- Type Ctrl/Cmd+C on your keyboard to copy the data to your clipboard.
- Paste the data into an external spreadsheet.
Note: When you enrich a custom area, mySidewalk generates a report containing over 250 unique data points spanning six thematic categories, specific to the area. The process used to estimate these values relies on the underlying spatial distribution of population and housing units. This process, while excellent for estimating values reported as counts, is not suitable for estimating values reported as means, medians, or rates. Because of this, and because of our commitment to data quality and reliability, values reported as means, medians, and rates are not included in the data reported for a custom area.
