There are several things you can do to keep your profile and user preferences up to date so that you have the best experience while using mySidewalk. These include updating your profile, updating your email notification preferences, and changing your category, role type, and geography to ensure that you are getting the most relevant data to your specific project or location.

Update Profile

Your public profile includes a profile image (small circle), a cover photo (long banner), first and last name, and a biography. To change any of these, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the top right hand profile image icon, then click View Profile
  2. Within your profile, click the Settings icon in right side of your banner
  3. Click Edit to the right of Public Profile. To change your profile image, click Choose Image (if you already have a profile image and would like to update it, click Remove below the image).
  4. Upload your desired profile image. The extensions .jpg, .jpeg, and .png are allowed, with a recommended size of 400px by 400px
  5. To add a cover image, click Choose Image (if you already have a cover image and would like to update it, click Remove below the image)
  6. Upload your desired cover image. The extensions .jpg, .jpeg, and .png are allowed, with a recommended size of 1200px by 400px
  7. To update your bio, type in the available text box. There is a 500 character count limit. Note: Any information added to the bio section is public
  8. Click Save Changes

Update Email Notification Preferences

  1. Click on the top right hand profile image icon, then click View Profile
  2. Within your profile, click the Settings icon in right side of your banner
  3. Under the Email Notification section, uncheck the notification checkboxes you don't want to receive
  4. Click Save Changes

Change Your Default Category, Role Type, and Geography

Setting your default category, role type, and geography maintains these selections throughout your mySidewalk workflow. Here are a few quick steps you can take to ensure that you have the best user experience.

Note: To change these User Preferences, you must first be on the data side of mySidewalk. Click on your profile icon at the top right hand corner, then click Data.mysidewalk.com 

  1. Option 1 - Click on your Profile Icon drop-down menu at the top right hand of your page. Select User Preferences OR 
  2. Option 2 - from the Home page, click Change your preferences near the top right corner
  3. Change your Default Category or Role Type by selecting an option from the list
  4. Change your Default Geography, then Save Changes. Note that you can set a custom geography as your default
