2025 Product Updates: Features & Enhancements
Review the latest and most exciting features available in mySidewalk.
January 2025
CoWrite Updates
In January, our team updated CoWrite to the GPT-4o-mini language model. Additionally, we improved and expanded the data context used for CoWrite messages. This update is to improve responses for components that reference multiple variables.

Auto-Update
This feature grants full control and deeper customization of Components. When enabled, Auto Update automatically refreshes your visualizations to use the most recent data available in the mySidewalk Data Library—without requiring any manual updates or republishing.
Auto Update addresses two common challenges for mySidewalk users: 1) those who need their published assets to stay current with minimal effort and 2) those who share instances when data should remain fixed.

Data & Smart Upload
Big improvements to the Data Upload experience make including local data fast, easy, and simple, featuring:
- Place Matching. mySidewalk’s Data Upload tools now spot cities, counties, zip codes, and more. Even when they’re listed in different ways (like “KCMO” or “Jackson County”).
- Addresses Mapping. You can now upload street addresses, and mySidewalk will automatically turn them into geographic locations on a map.
- Location Verification. If a place name is slightly off or unclear, we’ll suggest a match and let you fix any mistakes right in the app.
- Non-spatial Data. Upload non-spatial data, too—like survey results or program stats—without needing a location column.
- In-App Suggestions. If anything looks off, you’ll get clear feedback and suggestions in the app before finalizing your upload.
Along with this update, the beta version of Smart Upload was released to tackle complex files or messy formatting. Test Smart Upload while it’s in beta to help us improve additional AI tools that bring data upload into the future.

PDF Export
Exporting dashboards into PDFs has always been possible in mySidewalk, but the improvements we made in July make the end product more sleek, presentable, and, while static, engaging.
Intuitive Download Delivery. PDF versions of Reports and Dashboards will be delivered in both the browser and via email, allowing you to leave the page after starting the export process.
Simplified Formatting.
- Dashboard header will only appear on the first page.
- Say goodbye to blank pages. We've made sure those gaps won't populate.
- We've cleaned up map components to help keep the focus on your data story.
Improved Performance. All of the changes to delivery and formatting mean better visualizations and fewer issues with missing or strangely rendered components.
