Comparisons allow you to view your city, project area, or community's data against any other location's data. The mySidewalk platform allows you to compare up to six geographies at a time. This can add a whole new level of insight into the location you are analyzing, and you may be surprised at the similarities and differences you find between geographies. You can also normalize the data to accurately compare regions of different sizes. And don’t forget: you can compare geographies you made as well!

Reports & Report Templates:

Do you need to compare the same location(s) across multiple datasets? The best place to do this is within reports and report templates.

  1. Click New Report, OR find a report template within the Template Library
  2. Next, go to the edit panel on the right of your report. Here there will be a tab called Defaults. To change your default report geography or to add a comparison, click Add geography.
  3. Add up to 5 additional locations (6 total) using the search bar, or by selecting from the recent geographies, nearby geographies, and custom geographies columns. Click Complete Selection when you're finished.
  4. Begin adding your desired components to the report!

You can also add comparison geographies to specific components. To do this, you keep your default geography as your one main geography and then as you add components you will be able to add multiple geographies in the individual components.

To do this you will add a new component then navigate to the Geography tab then select Add Geography.
