Getting Started in the Distribution View

Seek is set up as a workspace with a Display Panel on the left and a Control Panel on the right.

Your selection of regions and data via the Control Panel determines the presentation of data in the Display Panel. To use the Distribution view, you must first select regions and data.*

*Note that if you’ve already selected regions and data in another view, your selections will carry over. You can always change or add to your selections by returning to the Regions and Data modals in the Control Panel.

What You Can Learn From the Distribution View

The Distribution view is one of four different views - or ways of looking at your data and region selections. The others are Table, Map, and Relationships.

The Distribution view is ideal when you want to understand the distribution of variables within a dataset or sample. With it, you can quickly grasp the range of values in your selected data and how evenly distributed those values are within a region.

Using the Distributions View

This view includes two visualizations:

Regions Ranked

In this visualization, each region in your selection is ordered from highest to lowest along the x-axis. The y-axis highlights the relative difference between the regions. Hover over a bar to see the region name, rank, and data value.

Histogram

In this visualization, the total range of values is divided into 100 equal intervals along the x-axis. The number of regions that fit within each interval is represented on the y-axis. Hover over a bar to see the specific range of values and the number of regions within an interval.
